Refund Policy
Effective date: 25 March 2026
Try before you pay
Offload offers a 14-day free trial with full, unrestricted access to every feature — including AI study plan generation, flashcard creation, spaced repetition, and Google Calendar sync. No payment information is required to start a trial. We encourage you to thoroughly evaluate the platform during this period before subscribing.
Digital content & AI-generated materials
Due to the digital nature of Offload's AI-generated study materials, we generally do not offer refunds once a study loop has been initiated. A "study loop" means any of the following actions have been performed on a paid subscription:
- Generating a study plan or exam plan
- Creating AI-generated flashcards, notes, or gap-fill exercises
- Initiating a spaced-repetition review session
- Syncing study blocks to Google Calendar
- Generating or attempting an AI-marked exam paper
Each of these actions consumes significant computational resources through our AI infrastructure. Once those resources have been consumed on your behalf, the cost cannot be recovered, which is why refunds are not available after use.
Technical defect exception
If you experience a verified technical defect that prevents you from using the core functionality of Offload (for example, the platform is entirely inaccessible or fails to generate any study materials despite repeated attempts), you may contact us within 14 days of the charge for a full refund.
To qualify, the defect must be on our end — not caused by your device, browser, network, or third-party service outage. We reserve the right to investigate and verify any reported defect before processing a refund.
Cancellation & future charges
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your billing settings or by emailing us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you will retain full access until then, and no further charges will be made.
We strongly recommend cancelling before your next renewal date if you no longer wish to use the service. Paddle (our merchant of record) sends a receipt for every charge, so you always have advance notice.
Billing errors
If you believe you were charged in error — for example, after you had already cancelled, or you were charged twice for the same period — please contact us within 30 days of the charge. Verified billing errors will be refunded in full.
Your statutory rights
This policy does not affect your statutory rights under applicable consumer protection law. UK and EU consumers have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal for digital services; however, by starting your subscription and accessing the platform, you expressly consent to the service beginning immediately and acknowledge that this withdrawal right is lost once the digital content has been accessed or the service has commenced.
This is in accordance with the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 (UK) and Directive 2011/83/EU (EU).
How to request a refund
If you believe you qualify for a refund under the technical defect exception or a billing error, email us at support@offload.education with the subject line "Refund request" and include:
- The email address on your Offload account
- The date of the charge
- A brief description of the issue
We aim to respond within 2 business days. Approved refunds are processed by Paddle and typically appear on your statement within 5–10 business days depending on your payment provider.
